About me
In the hospital I am known as Dr. Arizmendez
To my athletes I am known as Coach Nat
To my teammates I am known as Nat
Whatever setting I may have met you, I believe all deserve a chance to achieve their goals.
Girls and women have not had equal access to opportunity and support in various sports.
As a long time admirer and fan of mixed martial arts, I could not afford the membership in my teenage and young adult life. Moving out at 17 years old to pursue my dream of becoming a physician, I experienced several financial, housing, and nutritional challenges.
I started training jiujitsu in my medical residency. It provided me with intensive cardio workout, community, and the mental training and resiliency to prepare me for a career path in medicine. I am fortunate to practice as a critical care physician and clinical investigator in Salt Lake City, UT. I coach wrestling, am a competitive athlete, and IBJJF no gi champion as brown belt in 2024 and purple belt in 2023.
I am passionate about supporting girls and women achieve their goals.
My Approach
I attribute my success to having supportive relationships throughout my journey. The strongest being from friends who knew my potential even when I didn’t.
Dream it
All you need is the idea
Build it
We can help make it happen
